Depart from DirectAir’s
lounge at Darwin airport for your flight to the world famous
Kakadu National Park 220 kms East of Darwin. Your route takes
you over the Adelaide and Mary River wetlands before entering
Kakadu National Park. After flying over the East and South
Alligator Rivers we fly over the township of Jabiru and the
distinctive Gagugja Crocodile Hotel which is built in the shape
of a crocodile. From here we head for the famous “Rock
Escarpment” and the spectacular Jim Jim and Twin Falls
which are at their best in the wet season.
After landing at
Cooinda it is a short walk to board the world renowned Yellow
Waters Wildlife boat cruise, located on the freshwater
floodplains on the upper South Alligator River to enjoy the
rich variety of flora and birdlife with your experienced tour
guide.
After the cruise we have lunch at the Gagadju Lodge restaurant
before departing for Darwin overflying the mango plantations
and small farms that surround the city. |
